Whitemarsh Township Offers Family CPR Classes

The Red-Cross CPR class will certify participants in adult, child and infant CPR, as well as how to use the automated external defibrillator.

Whitemarsh Township Parks and Recreation is encouraging its residents and neighbors to learn how to save a life through CPR.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a response to cardiac and breathing emergencies, and can be applied to adults, children and infants, according to the American Red Cross. Whitemarsh Township will offer an American Red Cross-certified course on CPR, tailored to enable participants to help in such family emergencies.

The course provides lecture and hand-on training, as well as a lesson on how to use the automated external defibrillator (AED). The CPR training is also in alignment with OSHA’s (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs, and the certification is good for two years.
