Five-Alarm Apartment Fire
A five-alarm fire in a North Coventry Township apartment building appears to be extinguished.
Update: 3:15 p.m. Firefighters continue to spray water on the apartment roof from a ladder truck, the fire appears to be out and some smoke billows from the building's roof.
Update: 3:05 p.m. Emergency officials say about seven families have been displaced by the fire. The blaze destroyed the roof and third floor of the building.
Update: 2:45 p.m. According to the apartment complex website, Valley View Apartments is pet-friendly, includes laundry facilities in every building and offers 24-hour emergency service.

Update: 2:40 p.m. Emergency crews contacted North Coventry Township Water Authority Manager Steve Dunning for problems with fire hydrant water pressure.
Update: 2:20 p.m. Emergency units continue to fight a fire at Valley View Apartments. Crews report heavy fire and dense smoke.

Update: 2:10 p.m. The building has been evacuated.
Multiple emergency crews are on the scene of a three-story apartment building fire at 604 W. Schuylkill Rd. in a North Coventry Township.
There are reports of flames shooting from the top floor of the building.
Additional emergency crews are arriving and asking for staging instructions.
