Back To School: Pottstown District 2021-22 School Calendar

POTTSTOWN, PA — Back-to-school planning is happening in the Pottstown School District now, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in PSD, and info on policies as school starts.

The first day of school for most students in the Pottstown area is Aug. 23.

A big question in school communities is masks — and if they will be required. As Pottstown School District prepares to return for five days a week of in-person classes, it is following Montgomery County's guidance for its protocols.

On Thursday, the Montgomery County Office of Public Health (OPH) issued a revision of its 2021-22 school guidance for COVID-19 mitigation, following updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.

Montgomery County now recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to schools, regardless of vaccination status in alignment with the CDC. View the County's updated K-12 school recommendations here.

The County's recommendations include four levels of guidance for masking and COVID-19 testing based on a school district's level of COVID-19 community transmission and could change if transmission risk moves to the substantial or high level.

Here are some important dates to know for this school year in Pottstown School District:

First Day: Aug. 23 with Friday, Aug. 27 off

Labor Day: Sept. 6 with Friday, Sept. 3 also off

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-29 with early dismissal on Nov. 24

Winter Break: Dec. 23-31 with early dismissal Dec. 22

Spring Break: April 14-18 with early dismissal April 13

Last Day: June 10 with early high school dismissal June 8 and early dismissal for all June 9 and 10
