Construction To Begin On Long-Closed Keim Street Bridge
Plans have been announced to finally reopen the long-closed Keim Street Bridge.

POTTSTOWN, PA — Plans have been announced to finally reopen the long-closed Keim Street Bridge, local authorities said Thursday.
The bridge, which has been shut down since 2010 due to structural issues, will be replaced near the end of 2021, according to State Rep. Joe Ciresi.
The 749-foot bridge connects Pottstown and North Coventry, as well as Chester and Montgomery counties.

Built in 1935, the ailing structure will cost $17 million to replace, officials said. It will be largely covered by federal funding.
Final design work on the project will begin later in 2019. Once design work begins, it should be about 18 months before construction begins, according to officials.
