Five Things You Need To Know Today

Pottstown will host a variety of activities.

• The Nostalgia Nights Car Show will be held in Pottstown from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6. Newer cars are welcome. A $10 vehicle entrance fee applies for all show vehicles. The event is free for spectators and will include a muffler rapping contest, Swing Kat Swing Dance, Rainbow The Clown, the Pottstown Roller Derby Rock Stars. • Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 833 North State Street in Pottstown, from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 6 will host a "Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast" to support Men Pursuing Purpose. Cost is $7 per person, $5 for children 12 and under.

• The 2011 US Open Bus Trip departs from the Pottstown YMCA parking lot, 724 N. Adams Street, at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 31. Cost is $110 per person. Registration closes Aug. 29.
