Five Things You Need To Know Today

Pottstown will host several activities to benefit nonprofit organizations.

• The 3rd Annual Kidney Run will be held at 13 W. Armand Hammer Blvd. on Aug. 27. Registration is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., a continental breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 a.m., speakers and door prizes begin at 10:30 a.m. and the ride departs at 11:30 a.m. Registration costs are: $15 per rider, $10 per passenger and $10 for walk-ins. • The 4th Annual Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run will be held 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at 100 High Street in Pottstown. The 5K race costs $25 per person. The foundation will sponsor 5-K runs in 14 states -- including six locations in Pennsylvania --  to honor victims of 9/11 on the 10th anniversary of the attacks. • The Boyertown Boys/Girls Basketball Golf Tournament will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Gilbertsville Golf Course, 2944 Lutheran Rd., Gilbertsville.
