Funky Lil’ Kitchen Closes in Pottstown
The restaurant will close its doors after almost 10 years, and will be followed by another, more upscale restaurant.
Funky Lil' Kitchen, chef-owner Michael Falcone’s gustatory contribution to Pottstown’s King Street, will close its doors on Saturday, after almost 10 years running, according to Phily.com.
The restaurant will close after dinner service on Saturday.
Falcone has been planning to do something different for some time, and he will do so, by working on the new Heart food truck. The truck will travel in Montgomery county, the main line, north Chester county, and sometimes, Philadelphia.

Falcone said that he wants to spend more time with his fiancee, Tonda Woodling. "It's the freedom factor. I can make my own hours,” he said.
He said that he sold the 232 King Street restaurant to Greg Vassos. Vassos, a chef, wants to turn it into a more upscale BYOB restaurant named Racine. Vassos has worked in L'Escalier restaurant at The Breakers in West Palm Beach in Florida.
