NORTH COVENTRY, PA — A woman refused to cooperate with police after they tried to take her in for DUI, they said.

Police pulled Harris over after they said she ran a red light and was unable to stay in her lane.

Once they determined Harris was intoxicated, they placed her under arrest. But when they arrived at the North Coventry Police station, Harris refused to walk into the station, and had to be "physically escorted," authorities said.

She then refused a blood test inside the station, and refused to walk back out to the patrol car or to get inside of it, police said, putting her foot against the vehicle to prevent police from putting her inside.

Later, police brought her to the Pottstown Police Department for housing, where officers had to physically restrain her to remove the handcuffs, authorities said.

She was arraigned and was released the next morning.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Dec. 16
