MCCC Earns 2011 ‘Top Associate Degree Producer’ Title

The Pottstown school this week received the designation from a national publication.

From Montgomery County Community College:

Community College Week -- an independent magazine serving community, technical and junior colleges -- ranked Montgomery County Community College among the Top 50 Associate Degree Producers in the country in three categories for 2011. 

MCCC makes its debut appearance in the category of Science Technologies and Technicians, ranked at 16 for the number of degrees conferred.

Degrees offered in this area include associate in applied science, science in biotechnology, biomanufacturing and molecular techniques; technical studies; nuclear engineering technology; and nanofabrication technology. 

In the category of education, the college is ranked 40th for the number of degrees conferred. Education degrees offered by the college include associate of arts programs in Education In The Early Years: Birth through Fourth Grade and Secondary Education, and paraprofessional education.

MCCC also offers a 30-credit childcare certificate program and a three-course core director’s credential certificate for center directors. 

In the category of communication, journalism and related programs, the college is ranked 34th for the number of degrees conferred in its popular communications programs.

Degrees offered by MCCC include an A.A. program in communications, which has options in film and media studies, and A.A.S. programs in digital broadcasting, digital audio production and digital design, which has options in multimedia and computer graphics.
