Montgomery County Permanently Preserves 200th Farm (patch.com) — Residents near Pottstown may be interested to know that Sitko Tree Farm in Lower Pottsgrove Township has become Montgomery County’s 200th permanently preserved farm, ensuring it remains agricultural land forever. The century-old, family-run Christmas tree farm will benefit from county financial support and tax advantages, while the broader program protects local heritage, the environment, and the regional farm economy.
   

2. Montgomery County Community College police academy celebrates 37 graduates (pottsmerc.com subscription) — A Pottstown resident, Taylor R. McKee, is among 37 cadets graduating from Montgomery County Community College’s Municipal Police Academy, moving closer to serving local communities. The rigorous program includes 919 training hours, numerous exams, and several awards recognizing leadership, fitness, and development. Many graduates go on to police roles across Montgomery County and the region.

Schwenkfelder Virtual Series Experts to Talk About Textiles (travelswiththepost.com) — Residents interested in arts and history can join a Jan. 31 virtual textile symposium hosted by the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, which also promotes the Pottstown Arts and Cultural Alliance Facebook group.
