Premiere Interactive Children’s Museum Reopening In Montgomery County
After months of renovations and improvements, one of the county's most intriguing attractions for children is reopening in style.

POTTSTOWN, PA — After months of renovations and expansions, the Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center, one of the region’s premier interactive children’s museums, has returned to its original home.
The Center will reopen at Montgomery County Community College's Pottstown campus, on 95 S. Hanover Street, as part of a grand opening on June 21.
“People seemed to think it was a good idea, so we kept doing the next thing,” Beth Desch said of her nine-year journey to open the space. “It was purchased to be used as a community involvement building. We are educating and encouraging the younger kids.”

The Center first opened in June 2024. The latest renovations to the 7,000 square foot space include a new HVAC system, cabinets to house art supplies, materials for experiments, and a new sink to help with cleanups.
The Center also has a costume area, a stage for children to put on skits, a farm to table learning room, a LEGO building area, space for STEM activities, and more.

Desch, a former dental hygienist, was motivated to open the Center after taking field trips with her grandchildren and seeing what motivated them and connected them to learning experiences.
Desch said that her mentorship program with Score, an organization that provides guidance and assistance to small businesses around the region, was invaluable.
With help from Score, Desch created a mission statement and board of directors, taking her concept to reality.
