Pottstown School District's School Uniform Policy

From the district's administration:

Pottstown School District Uniform Policy - School Attire Policy 6181.2

Beginning with the first day of school, August 29, 2011, students in Grades K-12 will be required to comply with the school uniform policy.

Each elementary building, the middle school, the high school, and the Administration Building will have a display of sample uniforms.

The School Board recognizes its obligation to provide schools where the health, safety and welfare of the students who attend those schools are given paramount consideration and where a positive learning environment must be maintained. 

The School Board is aware of its obligation to make every effort to minimize the opportunities for student distraction and/or disruption in the schools.

The School Board believes that a uniform policy will address issues related to health, safety, and welfare of the students and the maintenance of positive learning environment.

In the event of a question regarding the appropriateness of a particular garment the building administrators will make the final determination.
