Please describe the individual’s military service.
Navy, WWII, South Pacific, served on the USS Gilmore.
Tell us about the military hero and what your community should know about them.
He will be 99 in July. He quit school when he was 17 (North Coventry, Chester County). He joined the Navy and saw lots of action in the South Pacific. I honestly don't know his rank at the end of WWII, but it can be found. He was active in his church and community since returning after the war. He was married for over 50 years and has 4 children, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is still active today.
What three words best describe the military hero?
He has always been virtuous and patriotic. But also, warm, loving and committed to the ideals of a nation that strives for justice and equality for all.
If you know a military hero who deserves recognition, we’d love to hear from you! Simply answer a few questions, and we’ll take care of the rest.
