Testing was conducted to learn whether Mark Geisenheyner, 51 -- suspected killer of two adults and a child -- had a brain tumor, The Associated Press reports. The pituitary gland of Geisenheyner -- an ex-convict -- was removed during an autopsy and sent for tests, said Trish Cofiell, a spokeswoman for the Delaware County medical examiner.

• The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities moved into a new facility at 57 N. Franklin Street. The Cluster helps needy Pottstown residents.

• Team Philadelphia Elite performed well at the recent Tri-State National Summer Lacrosse Festival in Princeton, N.J. The club navigated through 63 other teams in the Senior A bracket to claim the championship. In the final, Team Philadelphia erased a 3-0 deficit to roar past 2009 winner Smithtown West (N.Y.), 4-3, in overtime.

• Nicholas Natale graduated from Pottsgrove High School last month and already had an associate’s degree in liberal studies from Montgomery County Community College. As a dual enrollment student, Natale, 15, took classes at MCCC's West Campus in Pottstown.

• Pottstown's borough council unanimously approved a Genesis Housing Corporation request to paint a mural -- at the Chestnut Street Park -- to serve as part of the Washington Street Corridor Initiative.

• Summer Fun for Kids will be held at Daniel Boone Homestead July 19 through 21. The event will include junior history workshops for grades 3 to 6. On July 27, camp cooking participants can learn how Daniel Boone learned to prepare and cook his meals in the wilderness.
