$119K Raised By Radnor Middle Schoolers In Mini-THON
More than 480 students danced Friday night, celebrating the conclusion of the school's 6th annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer.
RADNOR, PA — Radnor Middle School's 6th annual Mini-THON dance event generated over $119,000, for pediatric cancer, setting a new school fundraising record and shattering this year’s goal by over $25,000, school officials said Monday.
The funds will support Four Diamonds Childhood Cancer Foundation at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
More than 480 students and staff members danced from late afternoon into the night to celebrate on Friday to celebrate their efforts in the fight against pediatric cancer Mini-THON is modeled after Penn State's dance marathon called THON.

In the six years that Radnor Middle School has hosted a Mini-THON, the school community has raised over $500,000.
Dr. Dave Wiedlich, principal of Radnor Middle School, said the Mini-THON is the school's largest philanthropic event.

" The dedication of our students and staff in support of fighting childhood cancer year after year is remarkable," Wiedlicj said. "It is truly a testament to how supportive our school community is."
Four Diamonds Mini-THONs are leadership opportunities that empower students to learn about event management and philanthropy. Over 200 schools host a Mini THON event.
Ian Roth, the faculty advisor for the school’s Mini-THON, praised the efforts of the leadership team in planning this event.
“We have an amazing team of cancer conquerors,” he said.
The RMS Mini-THON leadership committee includes over 20 student-leaders in seventh and eighth grade.
The students are mentored by 12 staff members: Diana Anders, Maureen Malinchak, Karen Shoulberg, Chrisie Dougherty, Brad Lord, Shannon Reece, Jordan McCauley, Jon Savitch, Holly King, Maria Krup, and Roth.
