Police stories were in the top five including the appearance of Bam Margera, who was spotted in the township outside the Radnor Hotel on Aug. 9. The former Jackass star was arrested at 4:30 a.m. and cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Cabrini University Closing in 2024: Villanova Buying Campus: In June, Villanova University announced it had reached an agreement to buy the Cabrini University campus, which is graduating its last class in June 2024. Cabrini, a 112-acre campus, is about 2 miles from Villanova. Villanova has not yet said how the Cabrini campus will be used. Several colleges in the region offered transfer plans for the Cabrini students.

Woman Killed In Traffic Stop, Driver From Devon: A Newtown police officer who was pinned between his cruiser and a suspect’s car as a suspect tried to flee killed a 28-year-old female passenger in the 800 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue. The driver, Jerry Long, 27, of Devon, was charged with aggravated assault. He is in Delaware County Prison in lieu of $1 million bail.
  3. Bam Margera Arrested At The Radnor Hotel: Police were patrolling the area and they saw a man and woman in the parking lot of the Radnor Hotel on Aug. 9. Police said Bam Margera, former star of Jackass and a stunt performer, was intoxicated and was taken into custody, where he remained for several hours. The incident followed a July 27, 2022 court order in Chester County for Margera to remain in the Philadelphia region until an assault case in Chester County is resolved. The dispositions of both cases are pending.
  4. Iron Chef Jose Garces Opens Amada Radnor: An upscale restaurant, Amada, featuring award-winning chef, Jose Garces, opened in March at 555 E. Lancaster Ave. The restaurant features a 7,000 square-foot, 250+ seat dual-level restaurant, bar, lounge, private event space, outdoor courtyard, and outdoor patio. The menu provides Spanish Tapas (Tortilla Española, Wagyu Brochettes, Amada's Empanadas) and Paella Valenciana (rabbit and chorizo paella) The restaurant also offers cocktails inspired by Spanish ingredients, and Red and White Sangria.
  5. Radnor Sex Assault Case Settled By Archdiocese For $3.5 Million: The archdiocese agreed to pay $3.5 million to a man who claimed he was assaulted while a student at St. Katherine of Siena in the Wayne section of Radnor. The plaintiff said the assaults occurred in 2006 while he attended religious classes.
