It was customary for early Wayne houses to have detached carriage houses, such as this one. These buildings would have served as storage places for carriages, as well as stables for horses.
This particular carriage house was unique for its front "eyebrow" dormer, which, instead of having a window, was simply the entry point for electrical wires. It also had a cupola topped with a weathervane in the shape of a horse. Today this carriage house has been converted into a single family home and its appearance altered somewhat dramatically for its present use.
Can anyone guess where it is? The answer will be posted tomorrow.
