Beloved Radnor Crossing Guard, Meter Maid Dies At 81

Radnor Township Police said Rosemarie "Rosie" Hyatt served the community for 35 years, including as a Radnor Middle School crossing guard.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A staple in the Radnor Township community has died.

Longtime Radnor Township public servant and Radnor native Rosemarie “Rosie” Hyatt died Nov. 18. She was 81 years old.

Radnor Police said Hyatt served the township for 35 years.

She joined the township as a Parking Enforcement Officer in 1986.

Upon her retirement, she served as a crossing guard at Radnor Middle School.

"Rosie’s legacy in Radnor reached far beyond the intersection of South Wayne and Runnymede Avenues," police said. "She was a loving mother, grandmother and proud supporter of our police officers. On behalf of the entire Radnor Township Police Department, we extend our deepest condolences to her family."

She is predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Robert Hyatt, according to her obituary.

Hyatt is survived by her children Sharon Cotter, Sandy Petrucci, Andy Petrucci, and Bobbie Lynn Williamson, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3 St. Katharine of Siena Church in Wayne. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be private.
