Bench Dedication Saturday to Honor Deceased Commissioner

Lisa Paolino, the first woman elected to the Radnor Board of Commissioners, died last year.

Members of the Radnor community will gather at Bishop Richard Allen Park Saturday in Bryn Mawr to honor the memory of former township commissioner Lisa Paolino.

Paolino died Feb. 1, 2014 after battling an illness for several years. She is the first woman to be elected to Radnor’s Board of Commissioners in the late 1990s. Paolino represented the township’s 5th Ward until 2009, when she resigned her seat.

Saturday’s ceremony will include the dedication of a memorial bench and feature remarks from Radnor Commissioner John Nagle, a blessing of the bench by Fr. Robert Hagan from Villanova University and a benediction by Rev. Carlos Bounds from Bethel AME Church in Bryn Mawr. The event begins at 10 a.m., with a rain date of May 2.
