Borowski Wins In Delco State House Race: Delco Voter Services Center

Lisa Borowski garnered a 11.7 percent lead over incumbent Chris Quinn with 100% of the votes counted, according Delco voter website.

RADNOR, PA — Democratic candidate Lisa Borowski won the race for state House against Republican incumbent Chris Quinn for a two-year term to represent four municipalities in Delaware County, according to unofficial results.

The result's posted Thursday show a total of 30,912 residents voted in District 168, which covers Radnor, Newtown, Edgmont and Middletown townships. The district covers 52.6 miles and has a population of 65,789.

  • Borowski garnered 17,269 votes including 9,734 in-person votes and 7,352 mail-in votes, according Delaware County Voter Service Center website.
  • Quinn garnered 44.1 percent of the vote, including 11,260 in person and 2,383 by mail. He has served three two-year terms.

"I’m incredibly humbled to have been elected to serve the people of the 168th District in Harrisburg,” Borowski said. “I am grateful to have earned the support of so many in our community in this crucial race.

Borowski was one of several Democrats candidates to oust Republican representatives in the state House.

Democrat Paul Friel won the race against longtime Republican Rep. Tim Hennessey representing northern Chester County.

Borowski: more than a decade of service

Borowski, a Radnor Township commissioner, resides in the Newtown Square section of Radnor Township with her husband, Mark, and they have two sons, Ryan and Justin.

She is a graduate of Radnor High School, and has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Drexel University.

Borowski said she ran for school board over 10 years ago because she wanted to make positive change in the community she has called home her entire life.

“I helped create the area’s first full-day kindergarten, invested in school facilities, and upgraded the curriculum,” Borowski said in an interview with Patch.

Borowski also served as vice president of the school board, and later ran for township commissioner. She then served as president and vice president of the board of commissioners.

Borowski is a longtime fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. She also enjoys reading, supporting environmental activities, music, and being with her family.

Elected to Middletown Township Council in 2008, Quinn said on his website that he has was instrumental in the creation of multiple parks and recreation space within the township.

He established an independent insurance agency in Delaware County.

Quinn graduated from Penncrest High School and the University of South Florida with a degree in economics.
