Daughters Of American Revolution Fashion Show In Villanova

The funds raised from the fashion show will benefit schools in each state and the District of Columbia.

VILLANOVA, PA —More than 100 members of the Jeptha Daughters of American Revolution attended a Lilly Pulitzer fashion show on Wednesday, April 12, at the Overbrook County Country Club, Villanova.

Proceeds benefit the nonprofit’s Helen Pouch Junior Membership Teachers’ Classroom Grant Award Program in memory of Helen Pouch (1901-1919).

Two classrooms in each state and the District of Columbia will receive $500 each.

Helen Pouch is the daughter of Helena R. Pouch, who became the first national chairwoman of the DAR Junior Membership Committee in 1937 and later served as president-general from 1941-1944.

"Our chapter selflessly gives in support of historic preservation, education, and patriotism," said Regent Teri Fischer, who received the “Patriot of the Year” award from General Anthony Wayne Society Children of the American Revolution

Applicants for the Helen Pouch grant are required to be endorsed by a local Daughters of American Revolution chapter.
