Delco Police Commissioner On Leave After Monday Morning Crash

Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky has been placed on leave after he crashed into an unattended delivery vehicle, officials said.

CHESTER, PA — The head of a Delaware County police department has been placed on leave after crashing a vehicle Monday.

The City of Chester said Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky was placed on administrative leave on Monday.

Officials said Gretsky is on leave while a "traffic incident" that occurred early Monday morning is under investigation.

Pennsylvania State Police said Gretsky, while driving a police vehicle, collided with an unattended delivery vehicle near East 22nd and Hyatt street in Chester just after midnight Monday.

No one was hurt in the crash, police said.

Major Katrina Blackwell is the acting commissioner during the investigation.
