Encke Park Playground In Radnor Closed Until Further Notice
The playground is closed for resurfacing work.

RADNOR, PA —The Encke Park playground at 305 Iven Avenue will be closed for the replacement of the playground surfacing and the installation of sunshades and equipment roofing structures.
Township officials ask residents to remain out of the playground on the 10-acre park during construction.
The park is a natural wooded area with playing fields, a skate park, picnic tables, a playground, and natural shrubs and bushes.

In the mid-1940s, the park was the site of a township sewer plant. The plant was phased and the township purchased the land in 1965.

The park was named after Ethel G. Encke, the founder of the Radnor Recreation Department. She was also a physical education teacher and coach in the Radnor School District for 40 years.
