RADNOR, PA — A $15 million South Wayne flood reduction project in the heart of Radnor Township was slated to be complete by Dec. 1, but will be delayed until May 31 due to unexpected encounters.
“Utility conflicts were found everywhere,” Stephen Norcini, township engineer, informed the township commissioners at a meeting this week. “I knew we were going to encounter a lot of problems because this is the old part of Wayne.”

“Even I did not expect what we would encounter. Everywhere we turn we are finding pipes that we did not know were there. Luckily, we are not hitting them."

Norcini said it was necessary to redesign the plan due to the elevation of the groundwater.
