John's Village Market is celebrating 35 years in business on Saturday. The shop opened June 15, 1978 on the corner of Pennsylvania and Poplar Avenues in Wayne, according to John's Facebook page.
The "institution" is known by people all over the world, said Bill Vesper, son of the owner, John. While some things change over time, some things never do—like the smell that greets you when you step inside the shop—cold cuts, sauces and baked bread.
