Longtime Radnor Police Detective Retires

Det. James Santoliquito has retired after nearly three decades of serving Radnor Township. Thank you for your service, Det. Santoliquito!

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A member of the Radnor Township Police force has retired after nearly 30 years of service to the community.

Radnor Township Police said Det. James Santoliquito retired recently after 28 years with the department.

According to police, Santoliquito graduated from the Delaware County Police Academy in 1987 and began his law enforcement career with the Delaware County Park Police the next year.

He worked in Folcroft, Darby, and Parkside boroughs, as well as with the West Chester University Police Department.

Santoliquito joined the RTPD in 1996 and was chosen to be Field Training Officer in 1998. Police said he went on to educate law enforcement officers throughout his career as an instructor of Legal Updates at Delaware County Community College for nearly 15 years.

In May 2006, Santoliquito was promoted to the department's Detective Unit, achieving a lifelong goal, according to the department.

He was also a Hostage Negotiator with Delaware County SWAT and a member of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Child Abuse Task Force.

"No incident, interview or investigation was too daunting for Jim. But man, did he despise his week of being on call," Radnor Police said in announcing his retirement. "To the best in retirement, Detective! Thank you for your contributions to Radnor. And a special thank you to the Santoliquito family for your sacrifices over his long career!"
