SOUTHEASTERN, PA — Four Main Line Health acute care hospitals earned a Hospital Safety Grade of A for fall 2023 from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care.

Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D, or F grade to nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide based on up to 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems that hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital, and Riddle Hospital received the highest grade.

“Nothing takes higher priority than the safety of our patients,” said Jack Lynch, president and CEO of Main Line Health. “I am thrilled that the Leapfrog grading system, which is based on a deep dive into federal data, shows that no matter which Main Line Health hospital a patient chooses, they can count on the same commitment and rigorous effort to ensure their safety.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is based on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services performance measures and is peer-reviewed, transparent, and free to the public.
