National Margarita Day Wednesday At Radnor Restaurant

RADNOR, PA —Buena Onda, a new Mexican restaurant in Radnor, is ready to celebrate National Margarita Day on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Jose Garces, a renowned Philadelphia restaurateur, opened Buena Onda, his first Main Line restaurant 228 North Radnor Road in September.

Garces' Baja-inspired taqueria is hosting a happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m featuring $16 classic margarita pitchers and $20 seasonal flavored margarita pitchers - including Mango, Prickly Pear, Pineapple, Watermelon, Guava, and Strawberry.

The margarita — triple sec, tequila, and lime juice — was created in 1938 in Mexico and is widely considered the official drink for having fun.

Garces is the 2009 winner of the James Beard Foundation’s prestigious “Best Chef Mid Atlantic” award. He also holds the title, “Iron Chef.” He appears regularly on the food network’s hit, “Iron Chef America.”

Garces is an Ecuadorian American chef. He grew up in Chicago and studied culinary arts at Kendall College in Chicago.

He started out working for Chef Douglass Rodriguez in New York. He moved to Philadelphia and worked as executive chef for Stephen Starr’s restaurant El Vez. More information about Garces is available here.
