North Wayne Avenue Shops, 1962
This image dates from 1962, when the building housing the cleaners and Wayne Sporting Goods was for sale for $55,000.

Shown here is a portion of North Wayne Avenue's commercial district as it appeared in the mid-20th century. Orange Cleaners and Wayne Sporting Goods occupied 105-107 North Wayne Avenue, a building which had been the office of the Wayne Estate, developers of our town, about 70 years before this picture. To the left is the Fairlawn Food Market, one of many markets that operated along North Wayne Avenue during this time.
This image dates from 1962, when the building housing the cleaners and Wayne Sporting Goods was for sale for $55,000. Upon purchase, the new owner added a rear addition, and later, the front gable was removed. The stores are now occupied by Toby's Shoe Repair Etc. and Farnan Jewelers.
