  1. What is your name and the name of your company?
    Kristy O’Connor of Weichert Realtors

  2. What’s the best piece of sales advice you’ve ever been given?
Be true to yourself. I don’t look at myself as a typical sales person because I’m not pushy and I do not like being pushed myself. Being true to myself I seek out information, share it, and guide my clients to make the best decisions for them. I’m honest and very matter-of-fact about everything I do and I keep that attitude with those I work with.

  3. If you were craving an indulgent snack in town, where would you go and what would you get?
I love going out for Sushi with my husband and our friends. Temaki Sushi Bar on Olive Street in Media is a great spot. It’s BYOB and the Dragon Roll is pretty awesome.

  4. What’s the best thing about selling homes in your area?
There’s a great sense of community wherever you go. Each neighborhood I go into I come across so many people who just love their home, their street, their schools, and their neighborhood. It’s energizing to see their pride.

  5. What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you when showing a house?
I was showing a new construction property in Philly when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. The stair case in the 3 story home wasn’t complete and you could see all the way down to the basement from the top floor. My clients and I walked to the top with no problem but when it was time to go back down I froze. I couldn’t see my feet because my belly was so big and I was scared to walk down. They both practically carried me all the way down the 3 flights of stairs.

  6. How’s the market in town these days?
    Great! Everything is on sale!
In all seriousness, the market is gaining strength week-by-week. There’s still a need for more inventory but I hope more sellers will enter the market because there are a lot of buyers out there just waiting for their perfect home.

  7. What sets one real estate broker apart from another? And how are you unique?
    Attitude.
I love connecting my clients to their goals and enjoy 97% of what my job entails. That’s right, I admit it’s not 100% fantastic. There can be a lot of road blocks on the way to a home settlement and I do all I can to find a way around them. I like to stay positive and keep pushing to make things work for all parties involved in a transaction.

  8. What’s your advice to someone who’s looking to a buy a new home right now?
Get pre approved for a loan first. Knowing your budget and having an idea of the money you’ll need to purchase a house before falling in love with a particular home can avoid a lot of stress and heartache. If you have a financial plan set, the rest will fall into place.

  9. Okay, here’s the situation: you have a client who’s allergic to cats -- and the perfect house for her, but it’s full of cats. What’s your strategy?
Always be honest and upfront. Dear buyer, this is the home for you, but not for your allergies. Let’s tough it out to see if the home is right and if it is, we can have the home thoroughly cleaned before you move in because thankfully, the cats do not come with the house.

  10. How can customers contact you?
Call me at Weichert Realtors at (267) 243-6434
