Photos and Winners from the Garrett Hill-Rosemont Fourth of July Parade

Scores of local children participated in the line of march in the 64th edition of the Garrett Hill-Rosemont Fourth of July Parade.  Cash prizes were awarded in eight categories. According to the parade committee, the winners are as follows.

Decorated bicycles, ages 9 and over:  Jessica Eldridge-Hennessy, first; Fiona McDaid, second; Jay Baker, third.  Decorated bicycles, ages 8 and under: Rory Grant, first; Tegan Kelsall, second; Evan Kropp, third. Costumed children: Kailyn Schrader, first; Kimmie Schrader, second; Jack Walish, third.  Tots in strollers: Faith McCormick-Flax, first; Christopher McCormick-Flax, second; Alexis Brennan, third. Tricycles and wagons: Jack Wilson and Brock Ammerman, first; Lisa Cellucci, second; Brooke and Shane, third. Roller blades, skateboards, and scooters: Dustin Schrader, first; Amanda McGrath, second; Clare McLaughlin, third.  Small floats: Michael Cardone, first for his vintage biplane; Lila and Holt McGinn, second: Jack Sullivan, third.  Large and motorized floats: Joey Gonzales, first for his Garrett Hill Flyover airplane; the McDaid Family’s American Express train, second; and Caden Szychulski’s Camaro NASA space shuttle, third.

Following the parade, the Bryn Mawr Rotary Club sponsored traditional footraces and awarded ribbons for winning performances in age-group categories.  In the 25-yd. dash, ages 2 and 3: Faith McCormick-Flax and Nicholas Bowers, first; Maive White and Henry Rand, second: Jason Keiper, third.  25-yd. dash, age 4:  Jamison Strickland, first; Patrick Luby, second; Christian Keiper, third. 50-yd. dash, age 5: Erin Mitchell and Jarren Valick, first; Christopher McCormick-Flax, second; Jack Rand, third.  Age 6, Amanda Hauptfuhrer and C.J. Christopher, first; Ben Keiper, second; Stephen Sucher, third. Age 7: Athena Wang, Brecken Strickland and A.J. White, first; Alex Lemheney, second;  Matt Vollbrecht, third.
