Police Investigating Abandoned Car in Ditch

On the morning of Friday, October 25 a number of commuters may have seen a car abandoned in an embankment near Saw Mill Park off of Darby-Paoli Road.

The driver of a school bus carrying children to Radnor Middle School reportedly stopped, ran to the car to make sure no one was in there, and called 9-1-1.

According to police, sometime during the previous night or early morning on Friday a car making its way from Earles Lane drove straight down an embankment so that its front wheels were submerged in Darby Creek.

The driver left the car, and there was no evidence of injury. But police are investigating who was driving the car and why it went off the road. The owner, who lives in Newtown Township, told police that the car had been stolen.
