Radnor Gets PECO Grant For Tree Planting Project

Radnor is one of 20 entities in the region to get a cut of $200,000 that is being used to boost local sustainability and preservation.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Radnor Township is going to be a bit greener thanks to grant funding from PECO.

PECO recently announced 20 municipalities and nonprofit organizations that were awarded funds to support local sustainability and preservation projects. In total, PECO doled out $200,000 to its awardees as part of the 2025 PECO Green Region Open Space Program.

Among those bestowed the funds is Radnor Township.

The money will be used to plant 150 native bare root trees in parks and along the township’s right-of-way.

"We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to support these projects that will have sustainable impacts in our local communities," David Vahos, PECO president and CEO said. "For more than 20 years now, our PECO Green Region Open Space Program is making a real impact in preserving open space and supporting initiatives that are helping to build a more sustainable future for all."
