Radnor Middle Schoolers Raising Funds For Pediatric Cancer
Radnor students and staff hosting a Mini-THON Friday to raise funds for Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

WAYNE, PA — Radnor Township School District students and staff members are hosting the 6th Annual Mini-THON to raise funds for pediatric cancer from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 3, in the Radnor Middle School.
Mini-THON, modeled after Penn State's dance marathon “THON”, includes games, activities, and speakers, culminating weeks of fundraising to support Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
Over the last five years, Radnor Middle School has raised over $380,000 for the hospital.

The highlight of Mini-THON is the fundraising reveal at the end of the evening.
Ian Roth, the faculty advisor for the fundraiser, praised the efforts of the leadership team.
“We have an amazing team of cancer conquerors,” he said.

The leadership committee includes over 20 student-leaders in seventh and eighth grades.
“I love leading on the Mini-THON committee because we get to support a cause that impacts so many people, "Ava, am eighth-grader on the team, said.
Staff members on the team include Diana Anders, Maureen Malinchak, Karen Shoulberg, Chrisie Dougherty, Brad Lord, Shannon Reece, Jordan McCauley, Jon Savitch, Holly King, Maria Krup, and Roth.
Dr. Dave Wiedlich, principal of Radnor Middle School, said the dedication of the students and staff in support of fighting childhood cancer year after year is remarkable.
"It is truly a testament to how supportive our school community is," the principal said.
Over 200 schools in Pennsylvania host a Mini-THON event.
The district serves approximately 3,600 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
