Radnor Police Report Daytime Burglary on Rockingham Road
Officials warn residents to keep doors locked while going out during daytime hours.

An unknown suspect entered a home on the 300 block of Rockingham Road last Friday and left with cash, jewelry and electronics, according to an alert from the Radnor Police Department.
Police say the homeowner left the house at approximately 1 p.m. and returned at 4:30 p.m. to discover the items missing from the master bedroom. A possible point of entry and exit may have been an unlocked door, according to police.
Officials urge residents to use alarm systems whenever leaving the home to help prevent similar incidents.

A high percentage of burglaries take place during the day, police say, with burglars using a common method of knocking on the front door to see if anyone is home.
When nobody answers, they attempt to enter the property by force or an unlocked door or window.

If a resident answers the door, the suspect will ask for directions, say he or she is selling something, or mention a name and ask if that person lives at that address.
Residents who are not expecting anyone during the day and experience an unknown person knocking on their door and present one of the aforementioned excuses or any excuse that may seem strange are urged to call police so they can investigate and confirm that person’s identity.
