Radnor Police's Vacant House Watch Keeps Tabs On Empty Homes
Radnor residents planning to take any trips this spring and summer are encouraged to sign up for the free vacant house watch program.
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — The weather is getting nicer, and that means people in the Radnor Township area will soon be jetting off to various locales to enjoy the season.
But with many folks planning to be away from their homes come an increased risk of those empty homes being targets for criminals.
Luckily, the Radnor Police Department's Vacant House Watch Program aims to keep a watchful eye on those properties while residents enjoy time in the sun.

The Vacant House Watch Program is free to all Radnor Township residents.
Those who sign up to be part of the program will have extra patrols around their homes while they are away, providing added peace of mind and security during trips.

"Having a home monitored while away can help deter potential burglars and reduce the risk of property crime," Radnor Police said. "Criminals often target unoccupied homes, making it crucial to take preventive steps. Extra RPD patrols provide homeowners with an additional layer of security, helping ensure their property remains safe until their return."
Police also urge residents who plan to be away from their homes to notify alarm companies, use smart lighting strategies, secure vehicles and driveways, arrange for pet care, consider house sitters, and set up an emergency contact.
