Radnor Polls: Steady Stream Of Voters

Two polls in the Ithan Elementary School have been busy all day, according to poll greeters.

RADNOR TWP – Radnor Township polls at the Ithan Elementary School had a steady stream of voters throughout the day, peaking at 10 a.m. with lines outside the door of the school at 695 Clyde Road.

Under the new Pennsylvania redistricting map that is based on the 2020 census, the district consists of Radnor, Newtown, Edgmont and Middletown townships.

The district covers 52.6 miles and has a population of 65,789.

By later afternoon, the parking lot at the school was filled and voters were streaming into the two polls set up in the elementary school.

There was no explanation for the mad rush of voters at 10 a.m.

Polls close at 8 p.m.

Democratic candidate Lisa Borowski for state representative lives in Radnor, and voted shortly after the polls opened at 7 a.m.

She returned later in the afternoon with Delaware County Councilwoman Elaine Schaeffer and State Sen. Amanda Cappelletti to greet voters.

Borowski, a Radnor Township commissioner, is running against Republican incumbent Chris Quinn.

“It’s been busy and steady all day” Borowski said. “It’s the democratic process.”

Quinn’s wife, Carle, said she is proud of her husband for his accomplishments, including his legislator of the year award this year from Mothers Against Drunk Driving for the passage of a law known as Deana’s law to strengthen drunken driving penalties.

Maria Galluch, wife of Republican candidate, Dave Galluck, said at 10 a.m., there was a long wait to vote.
“It’s been busy all day,” she said.

Galluch is running against Republican incumbent Mary Gay Scanlon.
