Radnor’s Getting Another Burger Joint

The Black Angus beef is smashed—giving this eatery its name.

Smashburger, which famously smashes its certified Black Angus beef balls into patties, will open a location in Radnor this summer.

The store will open in late July or early August next to Game Stop in the St. Davids Square shopping center at 550 East Lancaster Avenue.

It will be the first Pennsylvania Smashburger, which started in Denver, said Sean Leonard, one of the owners. There are about 200 Smashburgers around the country.

In addition to the burgers (which has a proprietary “smashing” process of cooking its beef), the menu includes chicken sandwhiches, salads and side dishes.

Sides include fries tossed with rosemary, olive oil and garlic, cheese fries and fried pickles.

Burger prices are $5.00 (smash) and $6.99 (big smash) with some free and some priced add-ons.

Leonard said the milk shakes, made of Haagen-Dazs ice cream, are one of the best things on the menu.

He described Smashburger as “quick service or fast casual” along the lines of Chipotle and Panera Bread, which also have locations in Radnor.
