Radnor Schools Designated As No Place For Hate

The Anti-Defamation League recognized Radnor middle and high schools for acceptance, tolerance, and kindness.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — The No Place for Hate banners flying at Radnor Township middle and high schools are marks of honor for students showing acceptance, tolerance, and kindness.

RTSD announced last week that Anti-Defamation League designated Radnor Middle School and Radnor High School as No Place for Hate schools for the eighth and fourth years in a row, respectively.

According to the ADL website, "No Place for Hate is a self-directed program helping all of the stakeholders take the lead on improving and maintaining school climate so all students can thrive."

The No Place for Hate designation was achieved at each building through the completion of a needs assessment, the formation of a No Place for Hate committee, the signing of the Resolution of Respect, and the design and implementation of three school-wide anti-bias or bullying prevention activities.

Upon completion of the required program components, schools receive a No Place for Hate banner that can be proudly displayed in the school.

A total of 180 schools across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware earned the designation for the 2019-20 school year. RMS and RHS are the only two public schools in Delaware County to earn the designation.

Anti-Defamation League states, "With public displays of hate on the rise, it is more important than ever for schools to commit to programs that clearly define expectations in behavior for all members of the community. Whether you are a student, educator, or family member, you have a role to play in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate."
