Scammers Sending Fake Invoices On Radnor Township Letterhead: Police
Radnor Police said these fake invoices are being sent via email and reference local permits and ordinances while asking for payment.
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Radnor Township are warning residents of bogus invoices that appear to be from the township being sent out by scammers.
Radnor Police said they have received several reports of fraudulent invoices involving township letterhead being emailed around.
Authorities told Patch Thursday that the invoices reference permitting and ordinances, and request money from those who get the fake invoices.

For example, one invoice was related to graphic design and another to a commercial awning.
Police said in at least one instance, the sender's name has no affiliation with the township and appears to be a fake name

These emails are being sent from generic addresses, as well, police said.
Radnor Police called the scam bizarre and that detectives are investigating the fake invoices.
Authorities urged residents to be diligent when receiving any invoice to ensure that it is correct.
Anyone in Radnor who has received and invoice from the township is encouraged to contact township officials to verify the validity of those invoices, police said.
Radnor Police said to never send money to unknown people, especially over the internet.
Anyone who gets a suspicious invoice should contact their local police department, Radnor Police said.
