'Sick' Fox Bites Dog Walker On Main Line: Officials

After recent discoveries of rabid raccoons in Radnor, authorities said a person walking their dog was bitten by a "sick" appearing fox.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A person was bitten by a fox that appeared to be sick Monday in Radnor Township, officials said.

According to authorities, the person was walking their dog on the 400 block of West Wayne Avenue when they were bitten by the fox.

The person reported the fox appeared to be sick.

Authorities were not able to find the fox to conduct testing for illnesses.

The person bitten was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"We are urging those in the area to be aware of their surroundings and report any sightings of the potentially sick animal to police by dialing 9-1-1," Radnor officials said.

Radnor officials found two rabid raccoons in the township recently. One was found on March 6 and the other on Feb. 16.

Both were found on the Skunk Hollow Trails.
