Tuesday's Vote a Referendum on Full Day Kindergarten, Board Member Says

The district is currently planning on rolling out the program in all three of its elementary schools in time for the 2014-15 school year.

Although the Democratic Party on the Radnor School Board lost one seat after yesterday's Election, it will retain its majority and presumably will be able to move forward on certain initiatives it supports.

Late Tuesday night Lydia Solomon, Democratic incumbent and Tuesday's top vote getter in the school board race, said that the vote for her slate showed community support for the implementation of full day kindergarten.

The district is currently planning on rolling out the program in all three of its elementary schools in time for the 2014-15 school year.

As part of that, some capital work is likely to be needed, including adding additional classrooms at Wayne Elementary School for both kindergarten and other classes.
