Villanova Coach Added to Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame
Wildcats basketball coach Jay Wright will be honored at a ceremony in Bristol this week.

He may still be smarting from the upset loss to N.C. State in the second round of the 2015 NCAA College Basketball Tournament, but Villanova head coach Jay Wright will find some refuge this week when he is inducted into the Bucks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Wright graduated from Council Rock High School in 1979, taking his basketball skills to Bucknell, where he earned both the Benton A. Kribbs Most Valuable Player and the Malcolm E. Musser Leadership Award as an undergraduate.
After seven years coaching at Hofstra, compiling a 122-85 record and two tournament appearances, Wright joined Villanova as head coach in 2001. Since then, Wright has transformed the Wildcats into a Big East powerhouse, earning a 285-149 record and nine NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the Final Four in 2009. Wirght was also named the National Coach of the year in 2006.
