WEATHER ALERT: Schools Close, Expect 'Significant Impact on Morning Commute'

Snow will start falling late Monday night and will keep on falling.

Just in case you forgot it was winter, Mother Nature would like to remind you again this week.

Anywhere from 2-5 inches of snow fell across eastern Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning, already making a mess of the Tuesday commute as drivers battled accidents and speed restrictions.

The most fell in Montgomery County - 5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Four inches fell in Chester County.

Here’s the hour-by-hour forecast, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than 1 inch possible.
  • Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the evening.
  • Wednesday: A chance of snow showers, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Light and variable wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Wednesday night: A chance of snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 6. West wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
