$1.58M Awarded To Projects In Roxborough, Manayunk

The funds will be used to help restore part of the Manayunk Towpath and for renovations at the Roxborough Home for Women.

ROXBOROUGH-MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — More than $1.58 million in funding has been awarded to the Manayunk Special Services District and the PIDC Financing Corp. on behalf of the Roxborough Home for Women.

State Rep. Tarik Khan Wednesday announced the allocations from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account.

According to Kahn's office, $247,781 was awarded to Manayunk Special Services District to restore the railroad tie wall on the Manayunk Towpath section of the Schuylkill River near Lock Street.

And $665,263 was awarded to PIDC Financing Corp. on behalf of the Roxborough Home for Women for renovations to its personal care home for low-income women.

"I’m really proud to have helped bring over $1.5 million of our tax dollars back home for meaningful projects in our neighborhood," Khan said. "From preserving vital recreation access in Manayunk to improving living conditions for residents at Roxborough Home for Women to enhancing safety and accessibility for patients and staff at Chestnut Hill Hospital, these investments are huge wins for our community!"

Additionally, $670,500 was awarded to PIDC Financing Corp. on behalf of Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital for renovation of three elevators in the hospital.
