9 Hurricane Sandy Tips from Philly

Mayor Nutter shared preparation and safety tips at his Friday press conference.

How Monday and Tuesday go during Hurricane Sandy could largely depend on how people prepare for the storm on Saturday and Sunday.

In his Friday press conference, Mayor Michael Nutter warned Philadelphians to vacate flood prone areas—like Manayunk, Shawmont and Lincoln Drive—and to plan ahead.

Leading up to the storm, the City of Philadelphia worked with its own and external agencies, removed leaves that may block storm drains, and communicated to its citizens.
