Devil's Pool Cleanup: Sponsored by Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW). Meet 
at Valley Green Inn Parking lot at 9 a.m. Debris collection, graffitti removal, and general cleaning work is needed at this location. Please join  in cleaning up Devil's Pool.

Thrill Show Tickets: Tickets are still available for the Philadelphia Police Department's annual Thrill Show.  All proceeds from the show go towards scholarships for the children of fallen city police officers and firefighters.

This day in history: On Aug. 21, 1959, Hawaii was admitted to the union as the nation's 50th state.
