Friends Of Wissahickon Hiring Seasonal Field Crew Members

Pay is $17.50 an hour and work 14 to 28 hours per week to share FOW's mission and responsible park use principles with park visitors.

PHILADELPHIA — Wissahickon Valley Park stewards Friends of the Wissahickon are looking to bring on new workers to help with regular cleanups and general stewardship.

Friends of the Wissahickon is looking for four to six seasonal field crew members from May through August, with a potential to continue to the end of October.

These crew members will also welcome visitors throughout the busy summer season and are responsible for sharing FOW’s mission and responsible park use principles with visitors at the Wissahickon’s highest use locations.

Based primarily outdoors, this position requires applicants to be comfortable spending time in all kinds of weather situations.

Ideal candidates will have some work and labor experience, be friendly and personable and able to clearly communicate with the public, be highly motivated, and work successfully as part of a team.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) speakers preferred.

Applicants must be at least 18.

The position is primarily a Thursday to Sunday schedule, with some holidays required.

Pay rate is $17.50 an hour for 14 to 28 hours per week.

The position begins with mandatory multi-day training.
