More bad weather is coming our way.

More bad weather is expected to come our way. But it won't be what you'd expect for winter.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook now that strong to severe thunderstorms - with potentially damaging winds - are possible for Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

The potentially damaging series of storms will likely start with rain on Tuesday night, and then evolve into severe thunderstorms by Wednesday afternoon.

The storm follows a harsh weather pattern that hit New Jersey and Pennsylvania this weekend, and knocked over a number of trees and smashed car windows.

AccuWeather says the soaking rain and locally severe thunderstorms will follow a tranquil and cool period up and down the East Coast. Then a storm will gather strength over the Central states and race northeastward toward the Northeast.

“Gusty storms will push into the mid-Atlantic for Wednesday and Wednesday night,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Courtney Spamer said in a release.

The risk for travel delays will be heightened as heavy rain and thunderstorms cross major interstates and airport hubs. The resurgence of warm air ahead of the storm system will add fuel to the thunderstorms, according to AccuWeather.

“These storms will bring heavy downpours that could cause poor visibility for motorists and ponding on roadways,” Spamer said.

People living and traveling across this corridor should remain alert of the latest weather watches and warnings and take action if necessary, according to AccuWeather.
