Lights Open Manayunk Bridge Trail For 24-Hour Access
The busy trail bridge that connects Manayunk to Lower Merion is now lighted for nighttime, making the trail open 24 hours a day.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — For years, people in Manayunk and the Lower Merion area have sought to have the Manayunk Bridge Trail lighted up to allow nighttime use.
Now, after much planning, the bridge's lights are active.
New trail lighting and security upgrades were designed to enhance trail safety and provide 24 hour access, according to the city.

Before the lights were installed, the trail was only open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m from April to November and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the rest of the year.
Construction began in May 2021 and the project was completed last week.
